As co-founder of 3DSP, Lu brings extensive experience
in DSP and microprocessor architectures, as well as high-speed circuit
design. As chief chief technical officer for 3DSP, Lu oversees the
technical direction for the company. Lu's goal in co-founding 3DSP
in 1997 was to design the next generation of high-speed, low-power
digital processor core for the emerging IP market.
Prior to co-founding 3DSP, Lu was senior design engineer at Texas
Instruments, where he was instrumental in high-speed circuit design
for next generation high-performance digital signal processor, as
well as the company's development of the X86 project. At Digital
Equipment, he worked on the 600MHz 4-way super scalar Alpha microprocessor,
the highest performance microprocessor in the world at the time.
Lu has two patents pending on high-speed circuit design and has
written six papers on low-power circuit design, solid state physics
and semiconductors laser designs. Lu developed innovative InGaP/GaAs
semiconductor technology used in Semiconductor Quantum-Well Lasers.
He also developed the world's fastest floating multiplier at DEC.
Lu earned a bachelor of science and master of science degrees in
electrical engineering and computer science from Massachusetts Institute
of Technology.
