Optimized for the 3DSP family of synthesizable, high performance, low power SuperSIMD™ DSP cores, the programmable 802.11a Baseband incorporates mandatory and optional Wireless LAN features per IEEE802.11a standards, while leaving headroom for future enhancements in the 5 GHz ISM frequency space. Designed to handle packetized OFDM (Orthonogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) data transmissions, the software implementation supports all data rates and modulation and demodulation schemes. The DSP baseband software consists of highly optimized code that runs on 3DSP’s DSP cores.

3DSP has five patent applications in process on the channel estimator, equalizer, and Viterbi decoder algorithms. These patents represent methods that greatly reduce the computational load and power consumption while maintaining or improving performance.

Advanced Filtering and AGC techniques are used for the best system performance and optimal matching with the RF radio components of your choice.
