3DSP UNVEILS ITS MASTERPIECE PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM TO ADDRESS COMPLETE DSP SYSTEM DESIGN
IRVINE, Calif., March 28, 2001 - With the disclosure of its first five major partners, 3DSP Corporation -- the leader in configurable, scalable digital signal processor (DSP) architecture -- began to unveil the scope of its new MasterpieceÔ partnership program. This new program is aimed at creating a network of complementary suppliers of DSP- or IP-related products and services to empower designers. 3DSP's Masterpiece program will aid in developing leading edge system solutions for the communications marketplace with complete access to the latest and most thoroughly integrated technologies available on the market.
"The goal of our Masterpiece partnership program is to make our customers more successful by helping them find and use hardware and software IP, design tools and design services they need to get innovative next-generation DSP-based products to market more quickly," said Tom Beaver, CEO and president at 3DSP. "We are aggressively pursuing very close working relationships with a range of best-in-class partners to address virtually every aspect of today's communications system solutions, and expect to sign agreements with more than 20 industry leaders over the next few months."
Founding members of the 3DSP Masterpiece partnership program include:
- Virage Logic - a leading supplier of memory cores and compilers that allow customers to implement cost-effective custom memory configurations that are easily integrated with our entire family of DSP cores. The Virage memory compiler is being successfully used by 3DSP for on-chip development.
- InSilicon - a leading supplier of I/O cores, providing a comprehensive library of I/O solutions for SoC designers, including industry standard interfaces such as PCI and USB.
- Artisan Components - the leader in cell libraries, providing our customers access to low cost, widely used IP for SoC design. 3DSP's chip developments are based upon the Artisan 0.18-micron library.
- Virtual Component Exchange (VCX) - the industry's leading Internet-based trading exchange for semiconductor IP, offering customers a way to streamline the IP licensing process; and
- Synopsys IP Catalyst - the leading supplier of logic synthesis tools and compilers. Synopsys' synthesis tools help make 3DSP cores portable and configurable, and are used by most customers to output system designs to a range of foundries.
"We have already developed the innovative DSP cores, a range of hardware and software IP, and the basic design system to attract significant customers. Our future Masterpiece partnerships in the areas of processor cores, hardware emulation, EDA tools, design services, and foundry capability will help us to facilitate more complete system solutions in the near future," Beaver noted.
