3DSP™ ADDS LEADING DSP SOFTWARE DEVELOPER NUNTIUS TO ITS MASTERPIECE™ PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM
IRVINE, Calif., July 31, 2001 - 3DSP Corporation™, the leader in configurable digital signal processor (DSP) architectures, announced that Nuntius Systems, a leading provider of communications software and design services, has joined its Masterpiece™ partnership program, representing a significant extension of the relationship between the two companies. 3DSP™ and Nuntius previously partnered to successfully produce a family of highly optimized voice-over-packet (VoP) algorithms for G.722, G.726, and G.729 A/B Voice-over-Packet (VoP) standards, among others.
"Nuntius offers our joint customers deep domain expertise in software development for packet telephony and other rapidly developing communications applications", said Tom Beaver, CEO and president at 3DSP. "They have played an important role in finalizing our recently announced Voice-over-Packet software suite, co-developing several packet voice codecs rated as the highest performing codecs currently available on the market. We are sure that our customers developing VoP and other communications solutions can use this software and system design expertise in getting their next generation products to market faster than ever before," Beaver added.
3DSP's Masterpiece program is aimed at creating a network of complementary suppliers of DSP- or IP-related products and services to empower designers. The program aids in developing leading edge system solutions for the communications marketplace with complete access to the latest and most thoroughly integrated technologies available on the market.
"Working with 3DSP experts, we have been able to produce some of the best performing VoP software IP available in the marketplace. For example, our jointly developed G.722 voice compression algorithm requires just 3.9 MCPS in processor bandwidth and uses just 1.7 kbytes of program storage for the decoder, encoded and QMF combined - setting an industry leading benchmark for DSP performance in the VoP world," said Jim Laehy, vice president, sales and marketing, for Nuntius. "With solid experience in developing the top performing software for 3DSP's configurable DSP cores, we look forward to assisting joint customers in developing DSP software solutions that will truly help them differentiate their next generation communications products."
